The NMG Awards is a new platform to recognize and amplify breakthrough luminaries in fashion globally.

The platform features the return of the prestigious Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion. It also includes a new Neiman Marcus Award for Creative Impact in the Field of Fashion, which will be given to recipients demonstrating exceptional innovation in their creative approach.

The reimagined awards are an extension of NMG’s growth strategy to Revolutionize Luxury Experiences through our differentiated business model. The platform celebrates our brand partners who share an interest in our innovative approach to retail and purpose-driven commitment to creating impact. Neiman Marcus will partner with award recipients to conceptualize unique activations and immersive experiences, investing the full strength of its merchandising and brand marketing magic to maximize the program’s reach to the US luxury customer.

Brunello Cucinelli will receive the 2023 Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion.

Cucinelli represents fashion’s pinnacle of luxury delivered to customers' growing demand for elevated lifestyle designs. His impact in the community and commitments to humanistic capitalism amplify his standing as an icon in the industry.

Brunello Cucinelli will launch an exclusive collection as part of his induction into the NMG Awards platform. The limited-edition, co-branded collaboration, featuring women's and men's ready-to-wear, shoes and bags, will be exclusively available at 10 Neiman Marcus stores and online in April 2023.


The highly regarded award was created 85 years ago by Carrie Marcus Neiman and Stanley Marcus to shine a light on emerging European and American fashion designers.

The award has been given to over 150 luxury fashion luminaries in the industry, including Yves Saint Laurent 65 years ago, Oscar de la Renta 55 years ago, Ralph Lauren 50 years ago and Missoni 50 years ago. Other notable recipients include Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Estée Lauder, Giorgio Armani, Grace Kelly, Karl Lagerfeld, Miuccia Prada.

The current award is a statue designed by William King in 1961. The casting is done in Texas by Schaefer Art and Bronze Casting/Tommy Ladd, with a marble base created by Omni Marble, Inc.
